Preparation and Characterization of Silver Nanoparticle/Carbon Nanotube Composites for Analytical Chip Applications |

Silver nanoparticle-carbon nanotube (Ag NPs-CNT) catalyst has been prepared and characterized to enhance a chemiluminescent analytical method. Ag NPs highly enhanced chemiluminescence (CL) intensity of a chemical reaction by its strong catalytic activity. The Ag NP-CNT was prepared by following procedure. Thiol groups were introduced to oxidized CNTs by a chemical reaction. After immersing the prepared thiol-CNTs in Ag NPs solution, the Ag NPs were spontaneously attached on thiol group on the surface of thiol-CNTs. And Ag NPs were directly attached on the surface of oxidized CNT by another method. The oxidized CNTs (1mg/ml) were dispersed in deionized water. While stirring solution, AgNO3 (0.01M) was added dropwise at room temperature. After 20h, Ag NPs-CNTs were collected by filtering. |
