Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene showed unique properties, such as high mechanical strength, high chemical resistance, and a high coefficient of friction. However, there are a few study on ultra-high molecular weight polypropylene (UHMWPP). In this study, we studied physical properties of UHMWPP which showed poor processability due to high melt viscosity. To improve this, UHMWPP was blended with a low molecular weight polypropylene (LMWPP) by a Kneader. The proeprties of blends including processability as a function of composition were studied. The mechanical, thermal, and rheological properties of blends were changed by the content of LMWPP. As the content of LMWPP increases, the mechanical properties of a blend like a yield tensile strength, elongation at break, and tensile strength at break decrease. A melt index value increases with LMWPP. All data were analyzed in terms of compositiona and melt index |
