제목 Evaluation of Sustained-release of Phytoncide from Sheath-core Fibers Containing Microparticle
초록 Phytoncides are volatile essential oil emitted from various trees and plants. It protects the trees and plants against harmful micro-organisms, insect and animals. There are some reports on the physiological effects of phytoncides, such as stress relieving, skin whitening, anti-oxidant and anti-microbial. Many commercial products are now on market which release phytoncide. Sheath/core type fiber has developed in order to compensate different properties of two polymers. Generally polymer of high cost or weak strength forms the sheath part and polymer of low cost or strong strength forms the core part. The sheath part was made of acrylic polymer but the core part was filled with microparticles. In this study we report sustained release of phytoncide from sheath/core fiber. While the fiber is a wet-spun fiber we adopted the same concept into a melt-spun fiber. On our best knowledge this is the first report that contains volatile substance inside the nylon fiber.
