제목 Bio-generated Methanol’s Effect on Oil-Water Interfacial Forces
초록 Bio Gas-to-Liquid process represents an immense economic opportunity. To improve Methane to bioMethanol conversion via a phase-transfer catalysis reaction by methanotrophs, it is important to investigate interfacial forces exerted on the oil-water interface. Capillary forces affect interface curvature (l_cap) directly. Hence, l_cap is investigated by interfacial tension of oil phase droplet in aqueous phase medium in 3hr of reaction. To find out interfacial electrostatic forces change, the method of spreading polystyrene(PS) particles on the interface and measuring mean particles’ distance is presented.  
Results show that by increasing bioMethanol concentration in the oil-water system, l_cap is decreased and capillary forces are weakened. Image Analysis of PS particles shows an augment in mean particles’ distance and consequently an increase in electrostatic forces.
