Molybdenum phosphides(MoPx) have received much attention as anode material for lithium ion batteries due to high reversible capacity at relatively low potential. However, most MoPx suffers from a relatively large irreversible capacity due to the electrochemical decomposition during cycling. In this work, we designed a new Silicon doped MoP2(Mo-Si-P) compound to improve electrochemical properties coinciding with an lithium intercalation and alloy reactions in MoP2 and Si alloy compounds after electrochemical decomposition reactions. We investigated the differences in physical and electrochemical properties between MoP2 and Mo0.8Si0.2P2, examined using powder X-ray diffraction, SEM, TEM, and galvanostatic charge–discharge test, considering the influence of Si doping. |
