제목 Structural Properties of Bacterial Cellulose Caused by Carbon Sources
초록 Bacterial cellulose(BC) is natural nanofibrous membrane produced by Acetobacter xylinum. We studied the structural properties of BC according to cultural methods and medium, using FT-IR, X-ray diffraction, tensile strength et cetera. Three kinds of medium were used in the culture of Acetobacter sp. V6 by static or agitated methods, which are Hestrin-Schramm(HS) medium and modified HS medium with glycerol or molasses as carbon sources, respectively. Cell growth was exceedly increased in molasses medium, and cellulose yield in agitated glycerol medium. The crystallinity of BC was increased by suppling glycerol. The static culture showed the increase of crystallinity and crystallite size, while the agitated culture induced the effect enlarged cellulose Ⅰα fraction rate. Some impurities were contained in fibril bundle of BC cultured by molasses medium. BC produced by static culture had larger viscosity average molecular weight, crystallinity, and tenacity than that by agitated culture.
