Development of Smaller Multi-tubular Solid Oxide Fuel Cell using Multi-pass Extrusion Process |

Micro multi-tubular solid oxide fuel cell was prepared using fibrous monolithic process containing 7-61 unit cells. The diameter of the cell varies from 2.7 to 4 mm after sintering. To achieve the performance, an electron barrier coating for preventing the short-circuiting between anode and cathode was employed. The coating on both end sides cross-sectional area of the pre-sintered samples was made by slurry coating of YSZ. The microstructures of anode and cathode were porous while that of for electrolyte was dense. The thickness of electrolyte was around 20 µm. The power density and open circuit voltage (OCV) of the cell were measured by four-prob method. |
