제목 Microwave-assisted High Yield Synthesis of Manganese ferrite Nanoparticles grafted with MWCNTs for instantaneous aqueous Dye Removal
초록 Herein, a high yield of uniform distribution MnFe2O4 nanoparticles (MNPs) was achieved by simple microwave-assisted chemical method. The NPs were characterized by XRD, FESEM and EDS techniques, which reveals pure MnFe2O4 phase with NPs size below 20 nm. The Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) analysis indicated specific surface-area of 142.93 m²/g with average pore radius of NPs ~ 3.4 nm. Such synthesized MNPs are then embedded with multi-walled CNT (MWCNT) by sonication process and further used in wastewater treatments for dye removal. The MNPs-CNT composite were used for the removal of various dyes (here Congo red, Methyl orange, Methylene blue, Rhodamine B) dissolved in water. The optical study was done by UV-VIS spectrophotometer for the dye removal efficiency of these MNPs-CNT composite which showed successful and through removal of high concentration of all the four dyes in few minutes without any external aide. This study reveals combinatorial effect of MNPs-MWCNT in dye removal as it instantly removes dye due to high porous nature, strong magnetic properties of MNPs as well as high adsorption properties of MWCNTs.
