Development of microfluidic devices for stem cell research |
초록 |
We developed the microfluidic device for studying stem cell-derived differentiation. The microfluidic device was filled with the biocompatible hydrogels to culture stem cells in a well-defined microenvironment. The microfluidic device consisted of various micropillar arrays to generate uniform-sized stem cells in a homogeneous manner. The stem cells were docked inside various micropillars to generate stem cell-derived neuronal networks. The stem cells were subsequently cultured within micropillars of the microfluidic device to induce stem cell-derived neuronal differentiation. We demonstrated that a number of neurites were closed connected across micropillars in a systematical manner. Therefore, this micropillar-based microfluidic device could be a useful for regulating the stem cell-derived neurite outgrowth in a controlled manner. |
