Fabrication of Electro-spun PS/PCL for Hard Tissue and Its Biocompatibility Evaluation |

Polystyrene (PS) is a high impact, brittle and biocompatibility material while polycaprolactone (PCL) is flexible, high stress and biocompatibility. In this study, we introduce a new component of electro-spun PS/PCL by using electro-spinning combined the advantages of PS and PCL which needed for bone application. The optimal electro-spun conditions of blend PS/PCL reflected by SEM morphology. MTT assay confirmed the cytotoxicity of PS/PCL mats respond to fibroblast cell (L-929). SEM morphology of cell attachment on electro-spun PS/PCL was tested on short time (one cell morphology), respond to MG-63. Mechanical property of mats (PS, PCL, PS/PCL) were measured by tensile strength. |
