Preparation of solution-processed organic-inorganic hybrid high-k gate dielectric for low voltage organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) |

Low temperature processed high-k gate dielectrics have recently attracted great attention in manufacturing flexible and high-performance OTFTs for next-generation roll-to-roll organic electronics. In this study, we presented the preparation of organic-inorganic (O-I) hybrid UV-curable (VTx) high-k solutions using an amphiphilic polymer as a dispersant and TEOS as an inorganic source in the sol-gel process at low temperature (< 100oC). VTx solutions could be coated on a plastic substrate and quickly formed homogenous coating films at ambient temperature via the printing method. The fabricated VTx films exhibit a low leakage current density <10-6 A/cm2 at 2 MV/cm and a high dielectric constant of up to 14 at 1kHz ( much higher than the k-value of SiO2 metal oxide, known as 3.4). In addition, the UV-cured O-I hybrid coating films show high optical transparency, plastic-like flexibility, and pencil hardness up to 7H on the glass substrate and 6H on the PET substrate. |
