Materials design and process architecture for organic material-based flexible electronic devices such as organic field-effect transistors (OFETs), organic photovoltaics (OPVs), and chemical and biological sensors will be presented. Synthetic approaches to high-performance p-channel, n-channel and ambipolar semiconductors will be discussed in terms of molecular orbital energetics and molecular crystal engineering. In addition, efficient methods for dielectric surface treatment and active layer crystallization and patterning will be introduced. Charge transport and air-stability mechanisms in electron-transporting semiconductors will also be discussed on the basis of the results of our in-depth studies. Furthermore, the synthesis of nano-/micro-structured organic electronic materials and their integration into nano-/micro-scale electronic devices will be described. |
