Fiber-Shaped Organic Ferroelectric Memories Based on Nanograined P(VDF-TrFE) Films |

Fiber electronics is a valuable technology for the development of wearable applications, especially for smart textiles. However, the fabrication of flexible electronic fibers that enable to record and process electrical/environmental signals generated under various strain conditions remains still challenging. Here, fiber-shaped organic ferroelectric transistors that can be used as nonvolatile memories and artificial synapses are fabricated on a thin metal wire. A fiber coating technique using a capillary tube and controlling solution viscosity allows the formation of a uniform ferroelectric nanograined film on the 1D fiber substrate. The uniform morphology offers excellent memory characteristics and diverse synaptic functions. The electronic fibers maintained their performance even under mechanical strain. These results will broaden the research vision for developing smart e-textile, including future personalized health monitors. |
