A gas sensor technology is needed urgently for diverse applications ranging from sensors at workplace, urban environment and battlefield to monitoring of toxic or flammable gasses. In particular, nitrogen dioxide (NO2) is an important gas in industrial and biological field. Here, we fabricated the multidimensional Fe2O3 nanoparticles(M-Fe2O3 NPs)/polyaniline(PANI)/poly(4-styrenesulfonate)(PSS) composite using dual nozzle electrospray and oxidation polymerization step for sensor transducer material. This composite was characterized using XPS, XRD, TEM, SEM and EELS Mapping. Then, we fabricated sensor electrode to detect the NO2 at room temperature with minimum detectable level (MDL) as low as 1 ppm because of the synergetic effect of organic/inorganic composite. |
