제목 Nafion/sulfonated poly phenylsilsequioxane nanocomposite as high temperature proton exchange membranes
초록 Nafion/sulfonated poly(phenylmethyl silsequioxane) (PPSQ) composite membranes are fabricated using homogeneous dispersive mixing and solvent casting method for direct dimethyl ether fuel cell (DDMEFC) applications operated above 100oC. This composite membrane showed lower fuel crossover and higher proton conductivity compared to Nafion 115 and Nafion casting membrane at high temperature. The cell performances of Nafion/sPPSQ composite membranes are measured and compared with Nafion 115 and Nafion/unsulfonated PPSQ casting composite membrane at temperature ranging from 100oC to 120oC and at pressures from 1 atm to 2 atm. It was found that Nafion/sPPSQ composite membranes have better single cell performances than Nafion 115 and Nafion/unsulfonated PPSQ casting composite membrane.
