Nanostructuralengineering of electrospunscaffolds for direct fabrication of dense pervaporationmembranes |
초록 |
Interfacial engineering of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)/carbon nanotube (CNT) electrospun fibers was studied to fabricate dense membranes in a simple way. Ethanol and water were used as nonsolvent and solvent, respectively, toalter the nanoscopic configuration of the electrospun fibers through interfacial solvent interactions. PVA/CNT electrospun mats with micron-sized pores (>100 μm) wereprepared by optimizing electrospinning conditions. Porous electrospun mats werecompacted by immersing them in ethanol. These mats exhibited asymmetricclose-packed top and bottom layers and porous intermediate layers. The electrospun mats were further consolidated using water to fuse the electrospun fibers. The prepared dense filmsexhibited high water/ethanol selectivity and water flux comparable with membranes using conventional methods. Thus, the simple interfacialengineering of the electrospun mat presented in this work successfullygenerates high-performance PVA/CNT membranes using simplemethod. |
