Gene delivery by temperature-sensitive sol-gel reversible polymer |

MBCP(multi-block copolymer) was synthesized by poloxamer and di-(ethylene glycol) divinyl ether with acetal bond which is degradable specially in acidic condition. It is a novel polymer that is temperature-sensitive and biodegradable without acid degradation products. MBCP can provide a strategy of site-specific delivery without tissue damages. In this study, we investigated the properties of MBCP on the temperature-dependent reversible sol-gel transition and degradation profile in physiological condition. We detected released plasmid DNA from the MBCP gel by gel erosion process. The results suggest that MBCP can be used for sustained plasmid DNA delivery system without degradation of DNA. |
