제목 Electrospun-based Organic Lighting-Emitting Diode with Polarized Electroluminescence
초록 We make electrospun (ES) nanofibers composed of a conjugated polymer, poly[2-methoxy-5-(2′-ethyl-hexyloxy)-1,4-phenylenevinylene] (MEH-PPV) in order to improve polarized emission. The polarization is achieved by aligning the backbone of the polymer along the nanofiber axis. The effect of the fiber diameter on the polarization ratio was also studied. The electrospinnable polymer, polyethylene oxide (PEO) is chosen for forming nanofibers, and removed by the thermal or the chemical methods. The nanofibers in which PEO is removed were used to fabricate organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) for polarized electroluminescence. We show that the polarization ratio of the electrospun-based OLEDs is higher than that of the OLEDs based on the spin-coated emissive layer. The devices with various fiber diameters are fabricated and characterized. Performances of the devices show how the fiber diameter affects the polarization ratio.
