Compatibilization of PBT/Nylon6, 12 blend according to their weight ratio and extrusion temperature was investigated with SEM morphology and DSC thermograms. In comparison with SEM pictures, the domain sizes of Nylon6,12 were gradually on the decrease by raising the blend temperature. Moreover, these illustrate that the phase boundaries between Nylon6,12 domain and PBT matrix became indistinct with increasing of weight percentage of Nylon6,12. In the case of DSC thermograms, the boundaries of two peaks are almost disappeared by raising the blend temperature, and intervals of their each two melting peaks became narrow as rising of Nylon6, 12 ratio. The mechanical properties including tensile strength, elongation, flexural strength and flexural modulus were increased as the increase in the extrusion temperature until 260℃. |
