Great attention has been paid to carbon-supported platinum nanoparticles (Pt NPs) as electro-catalysts, yet the major challenge is particle agglomeration, resulting in loss of catalytic activities. In this study, we report ice-templated, two-dimensional conducting polymer as a new support for Pt NPs. The synthesis of Pt NPs in contact with conducting polymers at air-water interfaces revealed unprecedented high areal density Pt NPs on the conducting polymer support with narrow size distribution. Particularly, both high catalytic activity and stability toward methanol oxidation were successfully achieved, which marked a significant improvement in literature. |
