Adding polymer in the crystallization process, resulting in manipulating various characteristics and obtaining manyadvantages. In polymer-directed crystallization, the polymer dissolved isadsorbed and stabilized on the nuclei surface, which affects the size and shapeof the initial crystals. This study aimsto prepare a complex crystal of two drugs using a polymer-directedcrystallization method. The crystal appearance of the two drugs was examined byan optical microscope (OM) and a scanning electron microscope (SEM).Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) showed changes in the melting point ofthe two drugs and the interactions between the drug and the polymer. In X-raydiffraction (XRD), changes in crystalline form were observed. The protonnucleus magnetic resonance method (H-NMR) confirmed the composition ratio ofcrystals obtained from various ratios. The manufacturing method of this newcomposite crystal provided an opportunity to conveniently create complexformulations. |
