제목 Non-fouling and -bacterial polymeric medical devices blended with metal ion-complexed zwitterionic additives
초록 Thrombosis and infection of implantable medical devices have caused a serious problems in various clinical cases. Recently, zwitterion groups have emerged as new generation of non-thrombotic and non-bacterial materials to inhibit protein adsorption and adhesion of platelet and bacterial. In addition, some metal ions are known to have great potential their anti-microbial properties. Herein, we designed a series of metal ion-complexed zwitterionic polyurethane (m-zPU) additives to confer non-thrombotic and non-microbial properties to polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Consequently, it is demonstrated that m-zPU additives significantly lowered protein adsorption and enlarged the zone of bacterial inhibition than pure PVC.
