Quarternery Ammonium Bromide Based Small Molecule Electrolyte Doped ZnO as Electron Trasnport Layer in Polymer Solar Cells |

The organic electrolyte based on quaternary ammonium bromide with hydroxyl group doped ZnO as the electron transport layer (ETL) for the polymeric solar cells are prepared by the sol-gel method. ZnO layers doped with N,N,N,N,N,N-hexakis(2-hydroxyethyl)butane-1,4-diaminiumbromide (H1) was fabricated as ETL in inverted solar cell devices. The presence of small molecules is characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The work function of H1 doped ZnO measured by Kevin Probe microscopy is higher than pristine, the work function value of ZnO doped is 4.0 eV then the pristine is 4.5 eV. The interface dipole from hydroxyl grup and quarternary ammonium bromide between the ZnO layer and the active layer plays an important role in power conversion efficiency (PCE). As the result, the PCE enhanced up to 8.87% compared to pristine ZnO 7.4%. |
