Partially hydrolyzed polyoxazoline was produced from the hydrolysis of polyoxazoline in aqueous NaOH solution at reflux for 72h. Funtionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNT-COOH) were prepared by acid treatment of pristine MWNTs. The new hybrid materials with partially hydrolyzed polyoxazoline and MWNT-COOH were synthesized by the reaction of partially hydrolyzed polyoxazoline and multiwalled carbon nanotubes having carboxylic acid group in the presence of N,N’-Dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (DCC) as a condensing agent. The composition, structure, and surface morphology of the new hybrid materials with partially hydrolyzed polyoxazoline and MWNT-COOH were studied by 1H-NMR spectrometer, fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectrophotometer, raman spectrophotometer, and field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM). Their thermal properties were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). |
