Amphiphilic block copolymers comprising biocompatible hydrophilic and hydrophobic blocks are attracting much attention as nanosized carriers for poorly water-soluble drugs. In some cases, the incorporation of drugs into these polymeric micelles has resulted in an increased efficacy or decreased side effects. In this study, well-defined amphiphilic poly(vinylppyrrolidone)-b-poly(ε-caprolactone) (PVPr-PCL) diblock copolymer was synthesized through combining the RAFT/MADIX polymerization of VP and the ring-opening polymerization of CL, and their micellar properties were investigated. |
