제목 | Improvement of photodynamic therapy by conjugation of a cell-penetrating peptide with Methylene Blue |
초록 | Photodynamic therapy (PDT) causes tissue destruction by visible light in the presence of a photosensitizer (Ps) and oxygen, which promises alternative therapy that could be used an adjunct to chemotherapy and surgery for oncology. Methylene blue dye alone permeates into the cell and distributes through the cytoplasm, Protamine is one of the cell-penetrating peptides (CPPs), which has high arginine peptide with membrane translocating and nuclear localizing properties. So it makes localized to a specific spot of the cell by endocytosis and the localized conjugates enhances the generation of ROS enough to induce cell damages rapidly. In this study, we introduce the new type of PS and explore the effectiveness of PDT using MB-Pro in human colon cell lines, the new types of MB-Pro show more efficient photodynamic activities than MB alone, causing rapid and effective cell death. |
