제목 | Metamaterial absorber-based tunable band-selective optical filter embedded into waveguide |
초록 | With the development of wireless communication applications, the photonic device components such as filters, couplers, amplifiers are being studied intensively for low power consumption, improved frequency selectivity as well as decreased size. Especially, the active photonic devices are the key components to achieve optical modulation. To achieve these purposes, we demonstrate the theoretically and experimentally selective filtering effect of metamaterial absorber-embedded SiN waveguides. The waveguide is designed to guide the light and to filter out the specific light by inserting the metamaterial absorber which can absorb the specific wavelength on the waveguide. In addition, the waveguide-integrated metamaterial absorber was actively actuated by incorporating a phase change material, Ge2Sb2Te5 on waveguide. And, the nonvolatile optical transmission adjustment in waveguide was investigated. The optical modulation of our waveguide will be crucial results in the development of band-selective filters and optical switches for various applications.
