제목 Preparation of transparent and high modulus silicon elastomer via the in-situ formed silica nanoparticle
초록 The application of unfilled silicon elastomer has been frequently limited by the relatively weak mechanical property. In general this problem has been deviated by the ex-blending of reinforcing filler, such as fumed silica, before crosslinking. However, in this work, the silicon elastomer was reinforced by the in-situ formed silica nanoparticle based on sol-gel reaction, which may provide the more efficient reinforcing effect without the losing the optical transparency of the unfilled elastomer. The hydroxyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane was crosslinked by the formation of tetraalkoxysilane in the presence of acid catalyst. At the same time, the reinforcing filler was formed by the self condensation of the hydrolyzed tetraalkoxysilane. The effect of in-situ formed filler on the morphology, optical properties and mechanical properties of elastomers were investigated
