제목 | The Reliability Estimation in Air-intake Manifold Plastics for Automobiles |
초록 | Air intake manifold(AIM) was traditionally manufactured by the aluminium die casting but to reduce vehicle weight it was gradually replaced by the plastics moulding. Generally plastic AIM was made by the glass fiber reinforced(GF) polyamide 6 or polyamide 66. The main function of AIM was to allow air to be passed into engine where it then mixed with fuel to combust. Principal demands was that this component had to resist fuel and temperature within the range -40℃ to 130℃ without deformation and degradation of properties. The objective of this work was to evaluate the reliability of AIM for automobiles, the reliability estimation was composed of mechanical property test, durability test and life estimation test. Mechanical property test was consisted of nipple resistance, insert pull-out, burst pressure and leakage tests and durability test was made up for material durability tests and part durability tests under heat, fuel, thermal shock and vibration. This work was studied in order to establish the standard for evaluating the reliability, to estimate the degree of degradation with environmental aging, and to predict the life with the statistical approach in AIM plastics for automobiles.
