제목 Direct visualization of phase behavior of model skin membrane induced by skin penetration enhancer in cosmetics
초록  The stratum corneum, the outermost layer of the skin, is a 10 to 20 μm thick layer consisting of corneocytes and intercellular lipid matrix. Because this layer is the major barrier to the permeation of cosmetics or transdermal drugs, a variety of skin permeation enhancers have been used to enhance the skin penetration of active ingredients across this barrier. It is important to clearly define the action of skin permeation enhancers in the formulation of cosmetics or pharmaceutics, but studies demonstrating the underlying penetration mechanism are limited. Here, we developed a model stratum corneum membrane that can directly visualize the action of a skin penetration enhancer, and the effect of lipid carrier that used as penetration enhancer in cosmetics on the phase behavior of the model lipid membrane was observed to elucidate the interaction between the lipid carrier and the membrane.
