제목 Preparation and luminescence properties of (Ca,Mg)2PO4Cl:Eu2+ blue phosphor excited by near UV for white-light emission application
초록 To overcome the problems of the w-LEDs by the combination of an InGaN-based LED chip and a yellow-emitting YAG:Ce3+ phosphor, the new combination of a near-ultraviolet (NUV) LED chip with tri-color phosphor (red, green and blue) blend has been put forward. Therefore, new RGB phosphors with high efficiency are important. In this work, the Ca2PO4Cl:Eu2+ phosphors substituted by Mg2+ for Ca2+ site are successfully synthesized using a traditional solid-state reaction. The crystalline phase and the photoluminescence (PL) property of (Ca,Mg)2PO4Cl:Eu2+ composition were investigated and compared with those of non-substituted Ca2PO4Cl:Eu2+ phosphor. The synthesized phosphor was crystallized in an orthorhombic system. PL results showed that (Ca,Mg)2PO4Cl:Eu2+ could be efficiently excited by UV-visible light from 250 to 450 nm, which is matched well with the emission wavelength of NUV or UV LED chips. From the emission spectra, it was confirmed (Ca,Mg)2PO4Cl:Eu2+ emits blue color centered at 455 nm. The content of Mg2+ substituted on the emission intensity from optimization process was 9 at%. Also, the temperature dependence of the emission of this phosphor was measured in the region from 25 to 180oC. The PL and thermal property of Mg2+ substituted Ca2PO4Cl:Eu2+ phosphor compared with the commercial phosphor (YAG:Ce3+, BaMgAl10O17:Eu2+).
