제목 | Efficient pervaporation removal of isopropanol in α, ω-diols production process by tuning of PDMS-PVDF membrane surface functionality |
초록 | Energy efficient pervaporation facile approach was intended to removal ofisopropanol from α, ω-diols production process. To doso, series of Polydimethyl siloxane (PDMS) membranes were prepared by tuningtheir surface chemistry through the trifunctional (PFTES and OTMS) andtraditional tetra functional (TEOS) cross linkers and casting on thepolyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membrane. Additional hydrophobic tail enrichmenton membrane surface due to alkyl (OTMS) and fluoroalkyl groups (PDFTES) fromtri functional crosslinker was confirmed from the FTIR, XPS, DSC studies. FromTGA and XRD studies, tetra crosslinking site promote dense structure across themembrane compared to the trifunctional crosslinker was revealed. PDMS series ofmembranes were test for pervaporation of novel feed PDO/IPA (90/10 w/w) system,the highest flux delivered from the fluoroalkyl type crosslinked membraneattributed to the superior hydrophobicity and amorphous nature of membrane was observed. |
