제목 Development of New Acentric Electro-Optic Core Structure for Highly Efficient Broadband Terahertz Generator
초록 We investigated a new core structure OHQ (2-(4-hydroxystyryl)-1-methylquinolinium) cations with three distinct counter anions for highly efficient broad band terahertz (THz) generation. As-grown OHQ crystals show acentric crystal structures and large nonlinear optical properties. In particular, OHQ-T crystals exhibit practically perfect order parameter (cos3θp = 1.0.), highly optical transparency and plate shape including parallel surfaces suitable for THz generation and detection. Therefore, we could expect that these crystals exhibit efficient broadband optical-to-THz conversion. In order to, examine the THz generation efficiency of OHQ-T crystals, optical rectification (OR) and electro-optic sampling methods are selected. The THz generation efficiency of OHQ-T crystals exhibit 32 and 2 times higher than ZnTe crystal pumped at 1200 and 800 nm, respectively. In addition, the OHQ-T crystals generate extremely broad THz spectrum with upper cut-off frequency is about 10 THz.
