제목 Evaluation of the cytocompatibility, hemocompatibility and in vivo bone tissue regenerating capability of different PCL blends
초록 Fibrous membrane scaffolds are one of the most useful materials used in the field of regenerative medicine. This study aims to compare optimized binary systems mainly composed of different blends of polycaprolactone (PCL). PCL in combination with poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA), gelatin type A and biphasic calcium phosphate (BCP) were fabricated through electrospinning using established parameters and formulations. Brief descriptions of each fibrous scaffold such as fiber morphology, tensile strength, and contact angle were analyzed to confirm correspondence with previous results. In-vitro biocompatibility of each optimized membrane scaffold, in terms of cell proliferation, adhesion and viability, was analyzed using MC3T3 cells while hemocompatility in terms of coagulation, hemolysis and platelet adhesion was determined using rat blood samples. Bone regeneration using these optimized fibrous scaffolds was established through examination of micro CT and histological slides of 5mm rat calvarial defects implanted with similar sized membrane scaffolds.
