Crystallinity control of thiophene-based conjugated copolymers via side chain chemistry |
초록 |
The crystallinity of polymers should be controlled depending on their application. We suggest a novel approach to controlling the crystallinity of thiophene-based conjugated copolymers via side chain chemistry. Side chains can significantly affect the packing structure of the polymer. The crystallinity of block copolymer which have both hydrophilic and hydrophobic side chains can exceed the crystallinity of the homopolymer with only hydrophobic side chains due to the packing effects caused by repulsion between the hydrophobic and hydrophilic side chains. In addition, the regioregularity also has an effect on crystallization of polymers. Thiophene-based copolymers with low regioregularity usually result in low crystallinity which can be used in the field of organic electronics such as organic photovoltaics (OPVs), organic field effect transistors (OTFTs) for improved performance. |
