Visible Light Active Rh-Sb doped Titanate Nanotube and Rh-Sb doped TiO2 Nanorod Composite For Simultaneous Removal of Orange Dye and Cadmium Ion |

In this study, rhodium and antimony doped titanate (RS-TiNTs) nanotube were synthesized by one pot hydrothermal reaction of molten salt rhodium and antimony doped (RS-TONRs) nanorods. The structural and chemical analysis of nanomaterials was performed by FE-SEM, XRD, UV-DRS and surface BET characterizations. The photocatalytic activity of nanomaterials was observed under the visible light irradiation over the degradation of Orange (II) dye. To enhance the photocatalytic activity RS-TiNTs was followed by protonation and copper loading. The optimized condition for RS-TiNTs protonation and coper loading was observed as 1M HCl and 3wt% respectively. The effect of surface protonation and copper nanoparticles dispersion on the surface of nanomaterials was observed by XPS and TEM characterizations. A higher photocatalytic activity of 3wt% copper loaded RS-TiNTs were observed by addition of cadmium into dye solution. The high uptake of Cd adsorption over RS-TiNTs and Cu(3wt%) RS-TiNTs samples were determined by ICP. Consequentially we confirmed possibility that simultaneously remove orange dye and heavy metal from industrial wastewater. |
