Mixed phase of Rhodium & Antimony co-doped TiO2/Titanate nanotube: Simultaneous Removal of Orange (II) Dye and Cadmium |

Titanate nanotubes were fabricated by one pot hydrothermal reaction of molten salt RS-TONR. The structural and chemical analysis of nanomaterials was performed by FE-SEM, XRD, UV-DRS and surface BET characterizations. The photocatalytic activity of samples was observed under the visible light irradiation over the degradation of Orange dye. RS-TONR/TiNT was followed by protonation and copper loading in order to enhance the photocatalytic activity. The optimized condition for RS-TONR/TiNT protonation and coper loading was observed as 1M HCl and 3wt% respectively. The effect of surface protonation and copper nanoparticles dispersion on the surface of nanomaterials was observed by XPS and TEM characterizations. A higher photocatalytic activity of 3wt% copper loaded RS-TiNTs sample was observed by addition of cadmium solution into Orange dye. The high uptake of Cd2+ ions adsorption over RS-TONR/TiNT and Cu3-NP/RS-TONR/TiNT samples was determined by ICP. Consequentially we confirmed possibility and mechanism that simultaneously remove orange dye and heavy metal. |
