Electrospinning is a fabrication process that uses an electric field to control the deposition of polymer fibers onto a target substrate. This electrospinning processing strategy can be used to fabricate fibrous polymer mats composed of fiber diameters ranging from several microns down to 500 nm or less. In this study, An electrospinning method was used to gelatin nanofiber non wovens for cell culture of normal rat epidermal stem cells. The electrospinning of regenerated gelatin was performed with 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol as a spinning solvent. To assay the cell behavior onto the electrospun gelatin nanofibers, cell attachment and spreading of normal rat epidermal stem cells seeded on the gelatin nanofibers and interaction between cells and gelatin nanofibers were studied. The structural, material, and biological properties of electrospinning gelatin suggest that this material may represent a nearly ideal tissue engineeing scaffold. |
