Anti-cancer drug releasing nanoparticle based on glycosaminoglycans/natural compound complex that activated by reactive oxygen species for cancer therapy |

In this study, a glycosaminoglycan and natural compound based nanocomplex was developed for activatable formulation by reactive oxygen species (ROS). An anti-cancer drug was loaded in the nanocomplex via intermolecular stacking interaction. The morphology and size of the nanocomplex were determined natural compound contents. The nanocomplex contained the anti-cancer drug efficiently. The ROS sensitive drug release of the nanocomplex was confirmed that better than absence of natural compound formulation under physiological condition. An anti-cancer drug release was induced via nanocomplex destruction by ROS mediated. Furthermore, a tumor therapeutic effect of nanocomplex was confirmed in tumor bearing mice. An efficacy of nanocomplex was determined by H&E staining and TUNEL assay in tumor tissue. These results suggest that the nanocomplex was efficient of tumor targeting and tumor growth inhibition. Thus, developed nanocomplex has promising methods for improving cancer therapy. |
