제목 A water management model of PEMFC considering friction pressure decline
초록 A two-dimensional model for a PEMFC is developed in which reactant pressure dropping along the gas channel in coflow mode is considered. The friction effect shown as Fanning equation is considered for the first time. Water transports in membrane are caused by electro-osmotic drag, back diffusion and pressure differential. Effects of liquid water on the effective porosity for gas transport in cathodes and cathode over-potential are involved.
The simulation results show that water content of membrane is quite high with middle humidity, and that the humidity is still necessary to improve cell performance. Current density decreases along the gas channel gradually subject to pressure drops caused by friction and mole quantity decline. Thinner membrane, higher stoichiometrics, and higher humidity can elicit better performance. Better agreement
is attained between experimental and simulation results after considering pressure
decline along the gas channel.
