제목 | Codiluent Effect on the Properties of UV curable Polyurethane Dispersion |
초록 | The combination of polyurethane dispersions(PUD) and radiation curable technology has led to the development of waterborne UV-curable polyurethane dispersions(UV-PUD). UV-PUD is expected to overcome both disadvantages of PUD and radiation curable systems. However, they still have some disadvantages such as long drying process and loss of thickness. In this study, in order to overcome its weaknesses, we used the hydroxyl acrylate monomer (HEMA, HEA) compatible with water as codiluent to control the viscosity and to increase the solid contents and crosslink density. We synthesized polyurethane acrylarte oligomer from the reaction of H12MDI, PTMG, DMPA and HEMA. Then we added HEA-HEMA codiluent before UV-curing. Drying process is eliminated and the thickness loss is reduced as a result of increasing the solid contents. Consequently, it showed high crosslink density because of codiluent as crosslinking agent. Thermal and mechanical properties of UV-cured film were measured using DMTA and UTM. The test of water swell and contact angle were also carried out for verifying hydrophilicity of the film. Fig. 1.
