Controlled Release and Morphology of Valsartan Loaded PLGA/Polyoxalate Microspheres |

Poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) has been used as medical resorbable sutures for the past 40 years and polyoxalate (POX) was known as a new family of biocompatible and biodegradable polymer. We prepared BSA loaded PLGA/POX microspheres on ratio of polymer to control sustained release. Morphology characteristics of microsphere images were analyzed using SEM and size of prepared microspheres were analyzed by particle size analyzer. Polymer degradation and drug release kinetics from PLGA/POX microspheres were investigated under pH 7.4 conditions and analyzed using BCA kit on various manufacturing conditions. Distribution of BSA-FITC within PLGA/POX microspheres was observed by confocal laser scanning microscopy. We expect possibility of drug loaded PLGA/POX microspheres for controlled and sustained drug delivery. This research was supported by WCU (R31-20029). |
