제목 Edge-halogenated graphene nanoplatelets for oxygen reduction reaction in fuel cells
초록 In fuel cells, platinum-based electrocatalysts are widely used for oxygen reduction reactions (ORR). However, platinum has several problems for commercial uses, because of high costs as well as poisoning by impurities.  However, heteroatom-doped graphene  nanoplatelets are known to have outstanding electrocatalytic activity due to high surface area, excellent conductivity and efficient charge polarization. Here, we report edge-selective halogenations of graphene nanoplatelets (XGnPs, X = Cl, Br, I) were simply prepared by ball-milling graphite in the presence of chlorine, bromine or iodine, respectively. The XGnPs displayed remarkable electrocatalytic activity toward ORR with high selectivity, tolerance to methanol crossover/CO poisoning effects, and long-term cycle stability.
