Commercialization of polymer solar cells needs a settlement of the lifetime issue in polymer solar cells. The major reason for the poor lifetime in polymer solar cells is the device degradation by moisture and/or oxygen has been now resolved by employing a hermetic encapsulation technique, while the lifetime decay by the deterioration of active layer materials and nanostructures could be overcome by introducing new materials and controlling morphology/composition. In terms of the strong acidity issue by hole-collecting buffer layer (mostly poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS)), we can overcome by introducing graphene or metal oxides but the device performance and reproducibility is still an on-going problem. Hence, as one of the simple ways to use the conventional hole-collecting buffer layer, we tried to reduce the strong acidity of hole-collecting buffer layer. |
