제목 Predictive guide to tune band gap energy of TiO2-based aerogels via solid-state gelation approach
초록 Due to their ability to harvest visible light energy, lowering bad gap energy could open new possibilities for photocatalytic reactions. In this approach, we demonstrate the fine-tuning of band gap energy well known commercially available TiO2 i.e., P25 by constructing aerogel network via solid-state gelation method. The approach shows possibilities of anatase to rutile phase transformation at 625 oC with ~ 89% retainment in specific surface area. In addition, the UV-DRS analysis shows the decrease in the band gap energy (3.08 eV) due to the increased rutile phase composition (WR=0.5). The dye degradation application which shows 100% removal efficiency achieved within 30 min using simulated solar light source.
