Tuning the Phase Behavior of Polystyrene-block-poly(n-alkyl methacrylate) Copolymers |

When we introduced random copolymer composed of two different poly(n-alkyl methacrylate)s (PnAMA) instead of PnAMA from polystyrene-block-poly(n-alkyl methacrylate) copolymer (PS-b-PnAMA), the phase behavior of PS-b-PnAMA was tuned to closed loop phase behavior by judicious control of composition and total molecular weight. We confirmed closed loop phase behavior by using SAXS, birefringence and rheometry. The pressure coefficients of new designed block copolymers showed strong baroplasticity. |
