Magnetic/CNT nanocomposites for electromagnetic wave absorption |

In this work, we investigated magnetic(FeNi)/CNT(carbon nanotube) composites for electromagnetic wave absorption materials. CNT was prepared by a simple in situ co-arc discharge process, followed by heat treatment. Based on the CNT, we fabricated magnetic/CNT nanocomposites to study the electromagnetic absorption properties. FeNi/SWCNT composites with different magnetic composition were fabricated by varying initial precursor concentrations. We found that the electromagnetic absorption properties were strongly affected by magnetic composition. It could be understood from magnetic/dielectric optimization for achieving impedance matching and structural enhancement which results in interfacial polarization and higher microwave attenuation. Thus, we believe that optimization of magnetic composition in the magnetic/CNT composites is crucial to obtain high-performance electromagnetic absorption properties. |
