The oligoaniline diamines whose internal NH groups were protected with t-butoxycarbonyl(t-BOC) group were synthesized by palladium catalyzed aromatic amination of aryl halide. The oligoanilines were polymerized with poly(ethylene glycol) bis(carboxymethyl) ether and poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether to produce copolymers with the repeating units of alternating oligoaniline and PEG blocks. The polymers were soluble in common organic solvents. The t-BOC groups of the polymers were removed thermally or chemically. The thermal, electrochemical properties and the morphology of the t-BOC protected or deprotected polymers were studied by differential scanning calorimetery, thermogravimetry, small angle X-ray scattering, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and cyclic voltamerty |
