제목 LOW BAND-GAP POLYMER BASED ON BENZOTHIAZOLE UNIT FOR PHOTOVOLTAICS
초록 The generally adapted strategy in designing low-band gap conjugated polymers is to place alternatively the electron-rich and electron-deficient units on the polymer backbone. Hence a new low band gap semiconducting terpolymer (P1) bearing a donoracceptordonor type with TT, BDT and DTT units was synthesized and found to have promising solar energy harvesting characteristics. The polymer structure is architectured to optimize its physical properties to enhancing the photovoltaic effect. The HOMO and LUMO energy levels were estimated to be at 5.54 and 4.04 eV, respectively. The band gap of P1 was successfully reduced by introducing ketone moiety in place of the ether one in the substituent of BDT and DTT in a polymer backbone. Electrochemical and photophysical studies reveal band gaps of 1.5 eV for P1. The power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 0.6% was obtained under simulated solar light AM 1.5 G (100 mW/cm2).
