A PCL film is a synthetic polymer that has been widely used in tissue engineering. Interestingly, PCL has many advantage properties such as biocompatible, biodegradable, nontoxic, and antimicrobial properties. To enhance its biological function is a challenging issue to further its usage in wider spectrum of biomedical applications. In this study, we prepared PCL films modified by coating with magnesium-containing ceramics. The morphological structure of the coating was analyzed using SEM. The chemical state of the coating was evaluated using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and Energy Dispersive Spectrometer (EDS). In vitro assessments on osteoblastic adhesion and proliferation were performed. The current result strongly suggests that the current coating method can promote bioactivity of PCL and can be further used in different types of polymeric substrates. |
